THE HARRISBURG WEIGHTLIFTING CLUB IS A NON-PROFIT IRC 501(C)(3). If you don’t already know, the HWC is one of the top Weightlifting clubs in the country, not just in NC. There are over 27,000 members in USA Weightlifting. About 30 train inside our gym, and so far 16 have stood on the National Podium to receive a medal. In 2021, our Men’s, Women’s and Co-Ed Teams each won the NC State Championship titles, with our top Male and Female individual lifters winning Best Lifter awards. We are one of the most diverse clubs in the country as well. Most large clubs have a couple of high level lifters, and most in just one division. We have National medalists in every division, from Youth, U25, Junior, and University level lifters, to Senior and Masters level lifters. We’ve had 10 National Champions across those divisions, since 2017. Our female lifters and male lifters are equally impressive. Between 2021 and 2022 alone, 13 of our lifters (7 males and 6 females) won medals at the National Championships, with 6 of those lifters being crowned National Champions (3 males and 3 females). We didn’t start with this success, however. In 2013, most of our lifters started out probably just like you, with little to no experience, or needing a change of direction. But since 2013, our lifters have accumulated 82 National Medals, and 5 International Medals. When you join the Harrisburg Weightlifting Club, you receive the opportunity to train alongside, learn from, and be coached by arguably one of the best and most experienced coaching staff in the Nation. All of our coaches are competitors, and your teammates as well. They have a combined 65 years of experience in Weightlifting, 2 World Championship Titles, and 4 National Championship Titles.
